Starting March 19th, 2023, I’m giving the PCT a go!
I was born and raised in Issaquah, Washington, the foothills of the Cascades about 20 miles east of Seattle. I studied Accounting at the University of Washington and lived in the city for a decade and then have been back to Issaquah for the past 20 years, where my parents still live just a few miles away.
I’ve traveled all over the planet for fun and for work in search of adventure and novel experience, visiting all 7 continents and around 50 countries (always looking for paths to walk whether lightly walked or heavily trodden). But, I always return home to my deep roots and connection to the Pacific Northwest and especially the alpine country near my home.
I have a career in Accounting which I’ll return to after this sabbatical, working with and for small non-profits, tech start-ups, and big public companies over nearly 3 decades. It’s been a rewarding journey, but this break to wander up the trail is what the doctor ordered.
My friends and family are and always have been the most important part of my life, and while this journey is solo, I couldn’t do it without the support of my two daughters, their mother, and my wife. I hope to see different friends popping in for visits along the trail and I’m very lucky to have healthy and active parents who are the root of my inspiration for this journey, as well as two amazing brothers who also love the Seattle area, but have carved out exceptional lives in Juneau Alaska and Thailand!
