Another short test as I’m having a bit of technological challenge posting from the phone or iPad. I’ll share more if I figure it out.
After finishing the final gear choices, savoring an omelette Ashley whipped up, and another 3 hour drive, we made it to the southern terminus and got the first 8 miles covered by dark. Ashley joined for night one but backtracks tomorrow to work until Thursday while I continue north, making somewhere between mile 20 and 77 depending on how cold and hard the rain is!

Glad I am getting to join along on your adventure for the first night. Glad it’s all my gear having mishaps. You’re welcome.
Good luck out there Brian! Hopefully you’ve made all your necessary sacrifices to appease the weather gods. It’s quite a year to be doing the early PCT start! We’ll be cheering you on and look forward to the updates.
Thanks Adam! I’m glad that I had some backup protocols in place and also am fully accepting whatever happens. I got 20 miles in before the weather halted leg one. While this is an early start, this system is so off the rails for SoCal in mid to late March it’s humorous! Leg two will be a fresh start….
